Daughter of Nilo & Alice Mantoani, I was born and raised here in Powell River, along with my sisters Laurie MacNeal and Nyla Ross. My father’s family emigrated from Northern Italy in 1921 and he was born here in Powell River. My mother was born and raised in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island, her family name is Popovich.
Married since 1984, my husband Richard and I (now empty nesters) have been blessed with 3 sons, our oldest is Joe (Carol) our second son Ben (born 1985) and our youngest Danny (born 1989). We are also very proud Grandparents – which is everything they say it is!
For enjoyment, in the winter we Curl and try to head to Mexico for 2 weeks, and in the summer we have a cabin on Powell Lake. One day I hope to improve my golf game, but in the meantime I love to read and am a bit of a movie buff. While raising our children I was very involved as a parent in our schools, with minor hockey, gymnastics etc.
We love Powell River, and think it is a great place to live and a great place to raise a family.
